The photos she captured were beyond superlative, Barrie, herself, is just a wonderful person, really fun, kind, and completely professional. She was great at capturing incredible photos of everyone, from kids to grumpy, generally non-photogenic adults, and would not hesitate to crouch, lie on the ground, climb on chairs, make funny faces at kids or do whatever it took to get a good shot. She was completely unobtrusive, and just melted into the crowd so half the time you didn't even know she was taking photos - which is great, because I don't like getting my picture taken and tend to blink a LOT (ruining most photos) when the camera's in my face. The quality of her sample portfolios were above and beyond anyone else we looked at, and we just got back our own professional photos and were blown away by how beautiful they are. I would not hesitate to recommend her to everyone for high-quality, artistic wedding photos. Seriously, skimp on the flowers and cake if you have to, but the photos are something you'll have for a lifetime! We dropped getting a videographer to be able to afford Barrie, and do not regret it one bit.

Barrie is wonderfully personable, flexible, and fun...while remaining impressively efficient and professional. Worth every penny. Barrie just shot our wedding last month and we could not be any more complimentary of her and her work! We LOVED her! Starting with the first phone call with Barrie, where she laid out her philosophy and approach to weddings so clearly and directly, I knew that she was a great choice. I notified the venue of our choices for all of our vendors and the coordinator there stated "Man, you've really got the A-Team!"...she was 100% correct! We had 145 guests, and a wedding party of 14 and Barrie did not miss a single photo op. She takes beautiful formal photos while also capturing incredible candid shots--these are the ones that will mean SO MUCH years from now. All of our guests loved Barrie. Many of them made a point of telling me that after the wedding weekend--I am sure if any of them are getting married in VT, they will be asking me for her name! One suggestion: When Barrie suggests that you put someone in charge of a list of "must-have" photos for the wedding day, DO IT! We sort of informally did this, and when it came time, and Barrie asked if we had any other specific shots we wanted, it was hard to think through all of the photos and remember which ones we still needed. Also--definitely have shots in mind that you want, Barrie works so well with direction and a "wish-list" so take advantage of that!

We first heard about Barrie because she was a preferred photographer for the wedding venue we worked with. She was prompt in getting back to us via email and set up a “get to know you call” to make sure our personalities would align and that we understood her approach before entering into a formal business relationship.Barrie is a seasoned wedding photographer - which is exactly what you want. She has a check list for you to go through before the wedding day to ensure that you get all the photos and group photos you want. Come wedding day she is the ultimate ringmaster - corralling increasingly unwieldy guests and magically being everywhere all the time, but blending in and not making you aware that you were being photographed. We took this for granted in the moment, but my sister got married a few months after us and had a less experienced wedding photographer. The difference was stark and I have a much deeper appreciation for just how important it is for your wedding photographer to be able to take charge and anticipate the important moments you want captured. Barrie was always tracking the lighting as the wedding day progressed and would seamlessly sneak us out of the reception for quick shots to take advantage of new photo opportunities.The weekend/day went by in a blur and even though less than a year has passed, we already barely remember the experience. The photos are something we absolutely cherish and have preserved the intimacy and excitement of the day. There’s nothing better to spend your valued money on.Neither myself nor my husband were comfortable in front of a camera and we were a little nervous about being able to get beautiful photos. Barrie was a great coach and made lots of little adjustments without making you feel embarrassed about your lack of modeling expertise. If we were too stiff or having trouble relaxing she had lots of tips/tricks and was able to cut tensions and get you laughing. Our wedding was postponed a year and Barrie was wonderful in reworking our contract to honor the new date. She even gifted us an engagement photo package to ease the COVID woes - which is such a testament to her character. She may shoot hundreds of weddings, but she makes yours feel like the most important. In retrospect, I would highly recommend an engagement shoot - even if you don’t care that deeply about preserving the moment, it was wonderful to have an opportunity to work with Barrie prior to the wedding. It helped us get the photo jitters out and figure out what our modeling pitfalls were. We can’t say enough wonderful things about Barrie. Wedding photos (in our opinion) were not the place to scrimp financially and we absolutely valued our product at the price we paid.

The group photos taken with my brothers and the rest of the family are my favorite. She came up with a lot of different unique poses and definitely kept the wedding party in line and ready to go! Raised between the Berkshires of Massachusetts and New York City, I developed a deep appreciation for bothnature and people. Growing up in a family that built Catamount and Jiminy Peak ski areas,I spent my childhood as a social loaner, skiing, horseback riding, exploring the woods,and learning to trust my instincts, my fears and embrace adventure.I have built a career centered around creativity, connection, and storytelling. My work includes fine art, weddings, events, families, children, dogs, corporate, commercial,and real estate photography. I have photographed more than 1,500 weddings worldwideand spent many years photographing for Ski Racing International and the U.S. Ski &amp; Snowboard Team,combining my lifelong passion for beauty, skiing, travel and my love of photography.
